Excellence in adult blood and marrow transplants
For 40 years we have combined unity in commitment to provide expert, excellent, and innovative care to blood and marrow transplant patients throughout the continuum of their experience. Our Blood and Marrow Transplant program is the oldest and one of the largest and most respected blood and marrow transplant research programs in the world. Patients come from around the world to be treated at the University of Minnesota Medical Center, Fairview.
The Blood and Marrow Transplant Program has been at the forefront of blood and marrow transplant (BMT) advances since performing the world's first successful BMT in 1968. University of Minnesota Physicians have performed 5,000 BMTs since then, using leading-edge technology which continues to be developed by University of Minnesota researchers. Under Medical Director Daniel Weisdorf, M.D., we have completed thousands of adult blood and marrow transplants.
